Life's Little Annoyances

You know those fuzzy quasi-carpet covers that go on toilet seat lids? There's no way a man invented those things.

If you're male, you know why I'm angry.

Comrades

One bright spot in my world is the incredible people that I can truly call friends. There aren't many of them these days; most have fallen away as I've fallen on harder and harder times. There's one though, that has always been there for me and has never judged me (at least, not to my face :P). We even dated once. Her name is Brooklyn and she's just awesome. You can see her here and here.

Someone else from my distant past has barged back into my life. Fiera, aka Misty is a wonderfully bright and talented lady with almost as many hobbies and interests as me. And she can hold down a lot of Irish whiskey. I'm not kidding. A LOT.

I even made a new friend, something I don't do often these days. Okay, pretty much never. Elizabeth is toughsensitivespiritualwisefunny and can talk on the phone for hours and hours. I'm really glad we met and I hope she sticks around for a while.

Anyway, see? I said positive stuff.

Re

Almost two years since my last post. Time flies when you're having a dreadful time of things. I've decided to resurrect this little nook and do my best to keep updating. Looking around, I think the place could use a bit of a facelift.

Much has changed in my life. The man-cub is going on three and a half, we've moved twice, once when our home was foreclosed on and once when our new landlord turned out to be a raving lunatic. Angil and I have parted ways (sort of) and my job sucks a LOT more.

My spiritual views have changed - for the better, I think. I have a much better grasp of what's really going on in the world now. It's as if the last shreds of that comfortable veil have been torn away and I can really see the stinking foetor that is the modern world. Things are bad. Bad, bad, bad. And they're getting worse, worse, worse. I'm going to use this blog as a sort of vomitorium for my soul, and my other blog for my observations of the shitstorm we're all lucky enough to be living through.

So here we go. Tra-la-effing-la.

Hotter than a June bride in a feather bed...

It's 92° in the 313 today. Angil and the man-cub are at the beach, but of course, I have to work tonight and couldn't go. Looks like I'm going to be forced to lug the air conditioners up from their basement lair. Why can't it be October all year?

"Had Enough"

I just think it's positively adorable that some people still think we can turn this country around...

Rise Up & Riot

These floors are dirty as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore!

Kittens!

The cat we've been taking care of for a friend had her kittens on Sunday. I woke up with placenta on my foot. Wonderful way to awaken after a night of dancing with the whiskey bottle. One of the kittens wasn't breathing, but Angil (animal care goddess) revived it, so all is well. See all the photos here...

Old enough to know better, young enough not to care...

Instant messaging and Irish whiskey is a bad, bad combination.
